live audio
« on: May 17, 2011, 10:12:51 PM »
Seems Radioreference has been having some trouble getting live audio for nyc up and running.

We ordered radios and equipment to do it on our own. Right now Bronx is up on a temp setup.
In the process of moving our equipment rack to another location and then will get all boros up and running.

You can listen to.the Bronx from nycfire.net homepage goto fdny communications live audio.
Will update live audio link on homepage

Have you tried thebravest.com, they have a scanner for all of the boroughs or you can listen to each borough

I appreciate being able to listen to the Bronx while being 1200 miles away. It came in great today, but tonight it's very distorted.

Still getting the audio 100%. Sounds great out of the radios and into the computer, not sure if it's the sound card or server.
Will be working on it tomorrow again.

Someone mentioned the bravest. We did our own so that it could be linked with radio reference , allowing you to use your smartphones.

We also plan on adding staten island dedicated, ems trunked ops and fire trunked.

My thanks for adding this service.  Living down in VA, it's great to be able to follow the Job on my Blackberry.  I noticed the Queens audio was very scratchy today and was unable to receive Manhattan.  I assume the kinks are still being worked out?  Thanks again!

I have a blackberry and use the scanner radio blackberry app. All of the NYC links have either not worked or you cannot understand the audio. I am sure they will get it up and running.

Ok. We had a compatiblity issue on the server. Switch to another server and seem to be good now.

Brooklyn needs a new antenna.

Take a listen and let me know.

We are running a Dell power edge 2850 server with lots of cool features for redundancy.
Still need to get the ups working and then add the trunked stuff and richmond.

Just note the Bronx is VHF so you may get static from richmond at times.
Using a surplus VHF spectra until I can get some more scanners or UHF stuff.
