One of the lists said 50, but the city council page says 60, so Im going with that right now. They could be wrong too....they are probably shocked we even have that many companies.

This really sucks. Cleveland has joined the list, closing 5 houses and laying-off/demoting over a 100 personnel. Why in the hell do we continue to send FOREIGN AID to other countrys, the citizens of this country pay taxes to the USA. We should take care of our own, I have seen homeless vets begging on the street. We will send your ass off to war but we are not responsible for HELPING you upon your return. These guys are not looking for a hand-out, just help me get squared away. >:( >:( >:( :-[ ::) >:( >:( >:(

It seems like there's a major job in the 43rd Batt. every couple of days and they want to close L161? Let's hope the "yuppies" in Williamsburg and Park Slope make lots of noise to save their fire companies. Northeast Queens fireload has been increasing and they're looking to close E306? I can see L27 & R3 standing on Washington Ave. waiting for that 1st engine to arrive ???. A 10-75 in Far Rockaway with E264, 265 & 266 working, now the next engine is E268 or E314 or someone even further away while we wonder where a relocator will come from? The nearest engine to E60 is Squad 41 which is a SQUAD, meaning they'll probably be busy somewhere else so now we have to hope that Engines 71, 73 or 83 are available and not too far away.

Let's wait and see which companies Christine Quinn decides to save so she can flaunt it in her mayoral bid in 2 years.

Some of this companies don't even make sense...284 is a Satellite unit, how the hell are they closing them down...233 was first due to the 4th alarm last Friday....E220 was in the papers for making pre-hospitals saves on an infant in cardiac arrest...Bloomsh*t needs to get the hell out of office NOW!

Let's just hope no major fire happens after all these companies are closed. I know if 46 closes the PD will take over the house and 27 will move in with R3. PD has wanted that house for years. Seems all Bloomberg cares about is PD. It seems to him that fire does nothing. Close down a few precinct houses we don't need a precinct every few miles.
