Masking up protocol

Just curious, does the fdny have an S.O.P of when the crews are supposed to fully mask up when operating at a fire. Is is procedure to wait until you enter fire building?

It used to be that SCBA was required when entering an IDLH atmosphere. I've been retired for over 9 years though so maybe one of the guys who's still on the job can provide current info.

 It's still the same as when your were on. Except now we have meters and a handful of other gadgets that can tip us to what's in the air if we have any doubts.
