12/9/2011 Firehouse Burglary
« on: December 09, 2011, 07:33:24 PM »
Report of a firehouse burglary this morning.   Apparently the two perps called in a false alarm, and while the companies were out, they went in and stole items including a computer.   As the companies returned I believe yhey caught the perps leaving the quarters.

Report I saw says quarters of E 7 and L 58.   This is obviously incorrect info if it is in NY, since E 7 is on Duane Street in Manhattan, and E 58 is on E Tremont Avenue in the Bronx.

Any have further information to clarify this sketchy report.

There was a break-in at Engine 154's house on Staten Island earlier this week and the perp was caught. Unfortunately, my wife dumped the paper and I can't find the story online. :-[

I was able to find this from 20 October 2011.

A thief broke into a Travis firehouse and stole a donation jar, authorities said yesterday.
Richard Flynn, 55, allegedly crawled into Engine 154 on Victory Boulevard near Latimer Avenue at 8 a.m. Sunday through an open window.
The burglar grabbed the donation jar from the kitchen and swiped a debit card from a firefighter’s locker, police said.
The thief used the debit card and charged $8, court papers state.
Cops caught up with Flynn the next day and arrested him on charges of burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, said a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.

I know about this incident, Flynn is a retired firefighter but I was referring to another one this week where the suspect was a youth from West Brighton and he got caught after breaking in.
