This is a great report. Thanks truck4
This is also a great story, showing the use of the multiple emergency services of a great City.  Imagine having a DOT ferry to bring in equipment.

I think that run down with the ETA's of the fireboats shows the need for a fireboat in the Bronx. Only the north side of the Bronx is connected to the mainland. The east, west and south are on the water and anyone who knows the area around City Island knows the heavy boat traffic there during the warm season and the number of islands just off City Island.

Thanks for the rundown. Not your everyday structure fire response.

How would a fire start on an uninhabited island on a rainy, winter's night?

If started by someone,

1. What were they doing on a boat at that hour of night in that weather?

2. Have they any idea how much of the taxpayers' money was wasted in manhours and fuel to get to the scene?

3. A Squad, rescue and boats OOS for a couple of hours. What if needed elsewhere?

Hope someone gets arrested.
