E319 working today ;)

Lone319wolf - Any idea on the rationale for the relocations?  E286 to E324 and E303 to E319. Why not E303 to E324 and E286 to E319? ;)  E286 more likely to know E319's response area better than E303 - less fuel too ;)

efd E-286 could be a trained backup for the satellite or they had two chauffeur's working and the 2nd one could drive the satellite. E-291 would always relocate to 324, they were a trained satellite company and always rode with two chauffeurs.

I have no idea to there theories. Seems to me whenever there is a job anywhere in queens 286 relocates someplace. On this one the only move should have been 303 to 305.  286 & 291 would have still been able to cover 319 area. 303 acting 305, 316 ,307 and 289 would be able to cover 324 area.  It all depends what the computer spits out.

In Queens the only unit trained to backup E 324  with Sat 4 is E 291.

Thank you old dog - I knew E291 was the backup Engine for the Satellite but the chauffeur explanation makes a lot of sense.

A few years ago we were told to go pick up Sat 4 . E 324 was at a job. When we got to 324s quarters we requested the combo. Approx 2 minutes the disp got on the radio told us to return to quarters and called 291 on the air and told them to pick up the Sat 4.

It has nothing to due with chauffers regarding some companies that are trained to backup special units.  We are the backup unit for the JFK hosewagon at E 308. We are not required to have two chauffers during the tour. If need be we go to 308, leave our rig in there quarters and take the house wagon. But it is a fact that 324 & 291 are required to have 2 chauffers all tours.
