55-4791 550 E 180 st btwn Monterey ave & 3rd ave, fire in a 1 story taxpayer consisting of 5 stores. Heavy fire and smoke on arrival. Exposure 2 side of bldg's roof collapses soon after 2nd alarm transmitted. Pictures to follow when I can get them posted.

Description Of Incident: Fully involved 100X75 1-story taxpayer.

2217hrs- B-19 Using All-Hands for fire in a 1-story taxpayer. S/C Engine and Truck. L-56FAST.
Exposure #1- Street
Exposure #2- 1-Story Commercial
Exposure #3- Con Ed Substation
Exposure #4- 2-story commercial

2219hrs- Div. 7 transmitting 2nd Alarm for fire into the cockloft.

2224hrs- Div. 7 rpts all co's being removed from the building. Conducting accountability and setting up Tower Ladders.

2228hrs- Div. 7 S/C Tower Ladder.

2232hrs- Co's forcing entry into the grounds of the Con Ed substation (Exposure #3) and setting up exposure lines.

2242hrs- Div. 7 transmitting 3rd Alarm. Staging area is 3rd Ave X E. 179th St.

2315hrs- Div. 7 rpts heavy fire conditions throughout the building. (2) Tower Ladders in operation, 3rd being set up off 3rd Ave.

2320hrs- 4th Alarm transmitted.

2340hrs- 5th Alarm transmitted.

0021hrs- P/W/H.

Just an FYI, Engine 46 did NOT respond on the Box, they were out of service Mechanical. They went back into service and were assigned on the 2nd Alarm.
Both 92 and 44 went to the job. Almost forgot, E-262 and IMT were NOT returned by Field Comm, they were returned by the Bronx Dispatchers.

Folks, as a long time lurker and poster on a number of boards, get your facts straight before you type, or cut and paste from some other board.

No. They missed a good job.  The job they were at was a surround and drown job, no fun.  The other job was a really good inside job.

good point cause where i am 5 alarm fires are a real draining of energy i cant think of how it would feal in the city
