Seagirt is on the ocean side near the inlet facing Atlantic Beach

Not to split hairs but the box location may not be the actual location of an incident....just a few blocks east of B 9th St are some canals (not really the bay but more still water ) that have been the scene of some previous drownings ...i would think this may have been the location of the kayakers in this incident....the ocean front at B 9th is known for some serious rip tides & dropoffs if they were in the ocean at B 9th St. then they had no idea of the conditions .
