Breezy Point in the Rockaways but doesn't PAPD patrol northeastern portion of Jamaica Bay aroung JFK Airport?

Almost sure they were doing a training exercise. 8 people swam to shore and 3 were picked up by the marine unit.

If they ever figure out how to properly operate these boats, it will prove to be another headache for the fire department. The P.A. cops already run around on the highways outside the airports buffing car wrecks with their rescue trucks. Expect them to start buffing water rescue calls too. Airport security isn't newsworthy enough for that agency.
