RET FDNY FF KEVIN MOONEY ENG*28 AT 66 YEARS OF AGE....I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin at some affairs "back when" (which were more on the somber side as they were FDNY Funerals for our BROTHERS)....he was always held in the highest regard by those who introduced me to him ....one early Saturday morning maybe late '70s/early '80s there was a Fire in a Hi Rise bldg on the water on the lower West Side of Manhattan....R*1 was occupied so R*2 responded in their place & also ENG*28 as a Second Alarm ENG .....this was before the standardization of equipment of what was carried in your Standpipe Kit....the original 1st Due ENG had a POS corroded fog nozzle on their line which in essence had the power of a garden hose....they made no headway & after our arrival the IC ordered us & ENG*28 to relieve them.... we joined w/28 to push the line onto the floor & into the apt. & put the Fire out & search....Kevin was on the Knob the whole time & did an amazing job....RESPECT DUE....REST IN PEACE BROTHER...PRAYERS FOR THE COMFORT OF THE FAMILIES

Info on the arrangements Recd by e mail .......With deepest sympathy and regret announcement is made of the death of retired firefighter Kevin Mooney, formerly of E-28, which occurred on May 7, 2016.

Kevin was 66 years old & was a member of the FDNY Retirees Association of Brevard County, Florida.
