He was appointed December 30, 1968 and retired July 25, 1988.
Chuck was assigned to L-86, E-160, E-18, E-152 and E-218"

RET FF MICHAEL HALQUEST LAD*136....Mike was appointed to 136 after graduating in class 2 of '05 a fine fellow from day one who shortly became a fine FF.....Mike fought valiantly with a brain tumor for years & Ret from the job & the profession he loved.....the end result was the loss of Mike last night ...Gone Way Too Soon.....The Brothers worked very hard helping Mike along the way & will continue to help his young Family.....REST IN PEACE BROTHER....PRAYERS FOR THE COMFORT OF THE FAMILIES.....  Whitting Funeral Home Inc.

 As I read this, I find this very sad that apparently such a young member of the FDNY who got on the job in 2005 has passed away. Giving him less that 13 years OTJ.

 Chief, it is my guess that you know this member personally. If that is the case, my sincere condolences to you, as well as his family members, and firehouse Brothers.

Robert W. Alt, 68, of Conklin, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at his home, while surrounded by his family.

Bob was born in Saddle Brook, NJ, on December 6, 1949, the son of the late Antone and Lillian Kellaway Alt. He was a 1967 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and served as Fire Lieutenant for the FDNY Ladder Company 42 until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, he worked as a self-employed contractor.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jean Alfano Alt; his children, Nichelle Langone of NYC and Robert Alt of Pitcher; and a step-son, Sean Mahoney of Mineola. He also leaves behind his granddaughters, Jenna and Jillian Langone; a brother, Freddy “Bruce” Alt of NC; a sister, Laureitta Fealy of FL; his mother-in-law, Emma Alfano of Bayside; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and William Alt; and a sister, Mary Moore.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bob may be directed to UFA, Widows & Children Fund, 204 E. 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010 or by visiting www.ufalocal194.org.
