Bureau of Training Instructors
« on: December 13, 2012, 12:50:54 PM »
Hello!  Can anyone provide a picture of the helmets of the Bureau of Training staff?  I am a New Orleans area instructor and wanted to know if their helmets are black or white, and are the the shields leather or goldleaf?  Also, what color are the shields and what is written on them; do they use an officer's emblem on them such as the axe or gun?  My last question is, what form of address is used for B.of T. staff (are they referred to as "instructor"  or "Lt", etc.)? Thanks again!

Bureau of training guys are firefighters, lieutenants, captains and chiefs from the field.  They get assigned there for a variety of reasons (expertise in a subject, assigned as new lieutenants, urge to teach  etc)  they wear the helmets they bring with them from the field, with their respective assigned unit.
