LAD*119 FRONT...   https://www.ebay.com/itm/FDNY-Ladder-119-Helmet-Front/123870458406?hash=item1cd7413226:g:wyMAAOSwsS9dTva7    .... the seller says the name on the back was the FF... it says "Croton 1983" i think this relates to being purchased at the old annual June FD Flea Market at Croton On The Hudson & 1983 was the year it was purchased there ? JMO....originally the annual June FD Flea Markets were held at the Keniscoe Dam Plaza in Valhalla NY then moved to Croton On The Hudson NY for a few years until it stopped....when it was at Valhalla we & other Companies used to make the day into a Family picnic/BBQ.... after Croton stopped the Annual one remaining is in Milford Connecticut every Sept called the ENG*260 Muster....they also have a Flea Market & old Apparatus on display.... admission is free but if you are selling there you need a Conn Tax Number  (Vahalla & Croton never required that).... http://www.engine260.org

How many remember when ALL the NYC Alarm Boxes worked ?.........   https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fire-Alarm-The-Fascinating-Story-Behind-the-Red-Box-on-the-Corner-by-Paul-Ditze/183907753511?hash=item2ad1c19e27:g:tV4AAOSwHSlcvg6y
And there was always an orange light globe somewhere on the telephone pole or nearby so you knew where a box was as you looked down the street in all directions. Today, no more globes, no more boxes and IF there is one, it's a gamble that it functions.

Sometimes you'll see an orange light attached to and mounted above a street light on a corner where there's an alarm box.

The seller infers this an FDNY ENG*29 Front but they were disbanded in the late '40s (maybe 1947 ) .....the BS insert fronts did not appear in the FDNY until 1960 ?....   https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Vintage-FDNY-Fire-Helmet-Front-Shield-Disbanded-Engine/174047000914?hash=item2886027952:g:UZMAAOSwYOxdj-UN
