"Original" FDNY ladder 5 patch?
« on: May 19, 2013, 03:38:51 PM »
Sirs, Are any of you patch experts?
I would like a FDNY ladder 5 patch. They are sold out at ladder 5's house.
Patches on the internet have differences. Anyone know if any of them are an original ladder 5 patch?
I bought the top one, but it doesn't look right.
2 last photos from the internet. All rights to the photographers.
All the best

Tons of places to buy patches on line.

Everytime someone places an order to have patches or shirts made, the artwork can be different, the colors might change some or the dimensions can be adjusted.  It is not very scientific.  Two vendors can make the same patch and it will look different.

Sometimes companies change their logos for a lot of different reasons.

Here is another L5 design:

There are patch manufacturers that make up sell patches of Units that do not even have a patch.

The last one in your pix:
FDNY starting cracking down on the logo as copywrited. If not licensed to sell, they were going after people selling the FDNY name. Certain places began replacing FDNY with FIRE.
