Here's where the pics of TL107 are:

http://nycfire.net/forums/index.php/topic,26302.0.html

I have a little more info on the incident.  They believe the oil on the leveling valve froze, so that the platform would not move.  (I find that a little hard to believe . . . hydraulic oil has a much lower freezing point.  Water in the hydraulic line I can believe . . . happens to me all the time in my tractor when the temp goes below freezing.) The Garden City Park FD had almost the same thing happen the same night at a fire in Albertson.

Seems to be a problem in some of the newer seagrave towers not as drastic as 107 and Long Beach but it has caused some leveling issues during extreme cold weather and prolonged operations. During the 5th if i remember on broadway and 207th street the leveling on L46 became an issue during the fire and in pics you can see bucket operating at odd angle, it didnt fail like 107 or long beach, but made it difficult to operate stream.

From looking at the pic of L-107 , I don't think it was a issue with the cold weather, the member in the pic is wearing shorts and there is still green leaves on the trees.

At Least no one (that I no of) has been injured as a result of the bucket dumping them out, I'm sure members on the newer tower ladders will be making sure there tied in when up in the bucket

The hydraulic oil was contaminated.  Bucket leveling valve was replaced and have had no problems since.
