anesti - Eight engines (7, 35, 46, 246, 279, 332, 263, 303) are designated Communications Support units, replacing the former Field Comm Satellite units. They assist the IC in planning and implementing the communications plan at major incidents. One is assigned on 10-75 below-grade subway/railway/tunnel incidents, and 10-76, 10-77 second alarm, third alarm, 10-60, 10-66, 10-80 Code 2, 3, 4 incidents,  and when special called.

SI units are going to see a lot of multiple alarms in thousands of similar buildings constructed rapidly by builders in the last 40 years.  A lot of these developments have difficult access and are located in parts of SI with limited FDNY units (South Shore/West Shore/Mall area).

Many years ago in the FDNY the term "tinderbox" was applied to OLTs=Old Law Tenements....i think that those bldgs as Fire prone as they were certainly had  been superior to the matchbox construction of recent years....these seem to be the modern day "tinderboxes"... be carefull.
