Very garbled transmisssion - sounded like a 10-75

four story building under demo

16:03 one line stretched and one T/L in operation - fire duration 13 minutes

Div 8 on scene
- return the squad

Please chime in if you have more specifics/complete rundown

Building is a 4 1/2 story 50x80 building in the process of demolition.

Exterior operations only.

BC 22 10-2'd the Squad and held with everyone else.

1 handline and 1 tower ladder in operation.

Prolonged operation.

DC8: At Box 1159, we have a fire in a 4 1/2 story old factory being demolished.  We have 1 tower ladder set up, we have 2 handlines stretched, 2 in operation.  This is strictly an exterior operation, you can 10-2 Squad 1.  We're still going to remain Doubtful using the units on the scene
Squad 1 is 10-8 back to Brooklyn

L82 is 10-8 in L83's response area

16:26 hours - Duration 37 minutes
DC8: At Box 1159, we still have 2 handlines stretched, 1 in operation.  Tower ladder is performing operations on the top of the building.  On the 4th floor is a shed about 10x20 that is on fire, and there is rubbish on fire throughout the building.  We'll remain Doubtful.

16:33 hours - Duration 43 minutes
DC8: At Box 1159 we're going to release Rescue 5, E159, and TL78.  We're continuing to operate with Engines 158, 166, 157, 154, Ladders 86, 79, and I think E163 as well.  We still have 1 tower ladder and 1 hand line in operation.  This will be an extended operation due to the stability of the building.  We'll remain Doubtful at this time.  The building is under demolition so we are keeping safe distance, all members outside at this time.

E220 is 10-8 in E163's response area

16:45 hours
E163 is 10-8, E220 can return from relocation

16:50 hours - Duration 1 hour 1 minute
DC8: Box 1159, main body of fire has been knocked down.  We're still operating with 1 tower ladder extinguishing hotspots.  We're going Probably Will Hold at this time.

17:03 hours - Duration 1 hour 13 minutes
BC22: we're going to place this Under Control and we're releasing TL79 by orders of Division 8

FDNY crews are extinguishing a roof fire at an abandoned Port Authority building on the former Port Ivory site in Staten Island's Mariners Harbor section.

The fire which broke out at 3:55 p.m. began on the roof of the two-story office building on Western Avenue, which is in the process of being demolished.

There are no reports of any injuries, and the fire appears to be under control.

Western Avenue is blocked off at the scene of the fire and motorists are being told to turn around.

A cause was not immediately available.
