From another board (Nassau FDRant), posted last night:

"saw the (FDNY) rearmount being built last week at Ferrara. only has the 2 outriggers...compartments are much lower than elmonts rig..front of rig looks similar to the rescue above ...rest of cab looks similar to the new fdny seagrave engines except it is notched for the aerial and the seating is the same as the old rigs....in the middle (where the engine compartment used to be ) there are multiple shelves for equipment and from what a worker there told me a sleeve for a water can in the cab"

So apparently they have started to build the rear mounts as well as the rescues. BTW: The Elmont rig referenced in the quote is pictured on page 3 of this thread.
any estimated time for delivery? because it would be great if these were being delivered mid to late October. and does anyone know the order of delivery?
Order of delivery should be those with the 1999's getting them first. Off the top of my head that puts 24, 81, 123 towards the top of that list. I would expect none of these in front line service until the first of the year. It will be a shame that those 1999's days are numbered. They were great trucks.

I'm thinking Probaly ladder 19 is getting one of the first ones as they haven't had a normal rig in a while as I recall the origial rig was plagued with prolems and they were reassiged a rig and their 99 or 00 rig went to bot.

I would doubt L19 will get one of the first rigs - even though their current 2001 rig is ex-BOT, all the companies with 1999's should get theirs first since they are all past the 10-year mark.

L-19's current rig was ORIGINALLY assigned to 40 Truck, and was 40's first (and probably only) rearmount.  I know because I was detailed to 37 Engine the day that 40 went to pick up the new rig and put it in service. (I remember the Brothers from 40 were NOT very happy about getting a RM).   It was very short lived and the Brothers in 40 made their case about needing a tiller to get around certain streets in their first due area, and how they couldn't do it with the rearmount.   I believe Senator Charlie Rangel actually played a part in helping them get a new tiller.   The rearmount then went to BOT, and was eventually assigned to 19 as their permanent rig after 19 had a few close calls with their '99 Seagrave RM malfunctioning at jobs.    The '99 is now out at The Rock.

While 40 had the rearmount, they put a 9-11 memorial sticker on it honoring FF Kevin O. Reilly who was assigned to 40 Truck, but was on rotation and assigned to 207 Engine when he was killed on 9-11.    19 left the sticker on it and it is still there to this day.

As per an Email I received from Chris Ferrara, The first aerial ladder for FDNY is currently in production. And will have photos of it on the web site mid- to late December.

Interesting interior design. Is that the engine in between the crew in the rear of the truck similar to the way Seagrave used to be? Does it seat 2 firefighters on each side with the engine compartment in the middle?

From what I heard, that's a storage compartment in-between the back seats. It's the same setup as if the engine compartment was in the middle
