Is it one of these newly posted #4572 demos? ???    http://www.ferrarafire.com/CustomerSupport/InProduction/InProduction.html

No i would say, i can only find two rearmount aerials, 1 77ft, the other 107 ft, FDNY uses 100 ft as per its specs, as im sure you know, and they do not use pre piped rearmounts, as im sure you know as well. Something tells me all is not well with this Ferrara Bid..as some of the rearmounts that need replacing are getting way beyond the replacement date, and if they havent even begun building the damn things yet then...who knows, something i would not think FDNY would tolerate... ??? :-\

I dont think the FDNY has any rearmounts in front line service older then 2001.  Do they?  They have some spares but i thought that was it. Also Ferrara on their website has one that is 102'.  ( LP 102' RM Ladder pg. 3 of this thread) That is probably what the FDNY rigs might look like.

And a couple of these like 19, 123, 24, 32, 42 & 154 are "red-hot" busy so their durability will be tried and tested.

I think L19 already failed the durability test. They have 2001 ex-L40, ex-BOT.

That's why L19 is perfect to test one of the new Ferrara rigs. Remember the E-One pumper that went to E8, E64, E275 & E283? All 4 of those companies were "acid-tests" for that rig. E275 alone runs up and down Merrick Blvd. which was nicknamed by NYCTA bus drivers: the "Ho Chi Ming" trail.  ;)

My bad. I thought that they had been replaced. Didn't realize they were still out there front line.

In the Jul/Aug issue of Fire Apparatus Journal, Jack Lerch says the Ferrara rear mounts (and the rescues, too) should begin being delivered "toward the end of the year" . . . Jack is usually a very reliable source.

the the last quarter of 2010 is upon us tomorrow and i don't see anything on the in production page. i think something isn't right with this contract. i wouldn't be surprised if FDNY cancels the contract with Ferrara like they did with wheeled coach if Ferrara doesn't come up with something soon

Has Ferrara ever dealt with FDNY before?

As far as previous Ferrara FDNY apparatus, I believe all of the Satellites (except Sat. 1) are Mack/Ferrara, Haz Mat 1's first piece and several pumpers (54 Engine comes to mind.)

I believe 4 of the 5 of the collapse rescue units are also Ferrara.  I also think they're possibly are several HazMat units that were also made by them.
