Park Hill has been a very active area for a long time.  It has an interesting history.  Area was location of largest US Army hospital during WW I which was built in 4 months.  It was considered a fire trap after the war and was shut down.  Well-used golf course and recreation area.  During WW II, Army reopened hospital.  Base also used for an Italian POW camp.  Barracks became make-shift homes for WW II veterans after the war.  Housing projects then built.
