E-23 might get in before E-74 since they are with L-25

Where was B-9  says B-10 was the 10-75 chief & assigned on the 2nd Alarm
Remember to take it coming in

Is E23 still with L25 or have they returned home to W58th St.  On the relocation of E21 to E23 I think I heard the Dispatcher ask if E21 was going to E23’s original quarters.  That might make sense since L154 relocated into L25.

On the other hand I drove past E23 last Friday and the major construction next door was ongoing with barricades in the street etc.  Bottom line is I don’t know for sure

Battalion Chiefs 10, 8 & 7 were assigned on the Second Alarm - that I know.

Kudos to all the videographers!  Great video of members breaking the window on the second floor and going into the room right next to the fire - really shows the courage and bravery of the FDNY.  Also the aerial rescue of the young woman by L4.

Not that usual that we get to see video right at the onset of a fire

Thanks to all again

74 got in first. Rundown isn’t perfect, but it happens. Went to the job and when I went to check if someone had posted it an hour later, I was surprised To see that no one had. Was juggling getting footage on YouTube and the news.

Also - I don’t recall there being a phone alarm given over the air for this job. L-25’s message came out of the blue.

OV should have taken window a lot sooner and made a quick search, even if only at base interior of window. Where was 2nd truck? Were they blocked out? Did engine have trouble with water? Why was civilian taken down aerial instead of interior (safer route) so long after fire was knocked down??

I cannot speak to the OV or the 2nd truck but I did hear that there were some water issues that may have slowed the first line from getting into operation. As for the civilian going down the aerial, all the fire had not been knocked down, although the main body had been Knocked in the original fire apt, heavy fire remained in the walls and crawl spaces of the building on multiple floors as can be seen at 18:30 in my video. By bringing her down the interior stairs she would be walking through a heavy smoke condition. It was considered but ultimately they decided to go with the aerial route.

To add I will say this: You take excellent videos and audio at fires. Continue to do so, because it clearly shows what should and should not be done at a job. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely no reason to take that occupant down the aerial.
