We went to Lake Grove LI (exit 58 on the LIE) this morning then back to QNS this evening...i have a small American Flag that i have clipped to my rear side window...i attach it on certain Holidays (like this weekend )...today going out there & back i did not see one other Flag on a vehicle along the way?

While driving around on Sunday, I did see several American flags at half-mast, when I saw the first one, I turned to my wife and asked her who died - she looked at me like I was an idiot and said a great many solders - she said my face turned red as a cupped my head in my hands - Oh am I embarrassed !!.

I mainly posted this as I read the Chief's posting - that I did see signs of remembering.

^^^ I saw many Flag's on lawns & homes but what i did not see were the inexpensive small Flags on a plastic staff that slip over the top of a vehicle window like this... https://flywheelnw.com/products/clip-on-window-flags?_vsrefdom=adwords&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInNfD8fm64gIVj4rICh0fAQrzEAQYBSABEgKmbPD_BwE

I highly doubt it Chief because we may offend someone or group within the school. Patriotism is no longer instilled or taught to the young any longer and that is a crying shame.

I remember, being  in elementary school, constantly singing these songs. It's about time we bring the Flag and National Anthem back into the classroom. If they offend you, tough shit. Love it or leave it.

All throughout elementary school for me (only a few years ago) we learned all the songs of the 5 branches and sang them during the annual veterans day assembly we had at our school.

One thing that I have noticed over the preceding several years, fewer and fewer locations selling the red poppy.
