Nice stop by these companies with heavy fire. Sounded like it might go to a 2nd for a bit.

A very rare occasion where 151/76 and the City Island companies(70 but not quite 53) catch work on the same day at around the same time. This may have never happened before.

I was thinking the same thing. The southernmost and northernmost point of the city at the same time, and two of the slowest houses in the city (annual # of runs wise). If only E329 caught a job in Breezy at the same time.

I know this always comes up with a south shore job, but still. L-82 was unavailable to be the S/C extra truck. TL-85 added to the box - coming from 5.5-6 miles away. At the time of the fire, the trip from 85’s quarters to this box is about 20 minutes - WITH taking the expressway. Traveling half the island as 4th due Truck. If 82 and 85 are BOTH unavailable...north shore trucks are responding. Granted the south shore of SI is adequately protected by companies, there’s no changing the long runs of companies above the standard 4&3 assignment for some of the boxes out there.
Just an observation!

this doesn't address the issues with truck companies on ststen island but...
if every engine company was a 5 man engine that would reduce the amount of engines required on an all hands fire.

Looks like they relocated 8 companies and 2 battalions. Several of the co's from Brooklyn.

For an all hands?   Really?

When I was working you'd move maybe 1+1.   And help from Brooklyn wouldn't be on the menu for anything less than a 2nd or 3rd.

I somehow think that someone set up one of those "drinking bird" novelties over the "next" key at the DD's work station!    ::)

Also note E6 from Manhattan went to E159.

Back in the day they would have had to take the ferry. E16 relocated often to E154 on Hannah Street via the ferry. As we all know, the ferry cruises were over in 1964.

Surprised Financial District companies relocate on the day tour unlike the Midtown companies.

6 to 159 is an insane relocation for just an all hands on SI. Was anything else going on to cause this kind of relocation?
