I would have put that suction straight through the car instead of over it. People think they can do anything they want in todays society with impunity.

Anybody know if the car on the hydrant belonged to an off duty cop.

Cars parked on hydrants with PD placards in the window has become a common occurrence.

Just cars parked on hydrants in general are a problem, don't remember off duty cops as being a specific problem!

In this case I think it was much quicker to go over the hood to hook up rather than break two windows and then maneuver the hose through the car.

^^^^^ The fastest way to get water is the best thing to do at the time....just make sure the car is blocked in & PD is coming...let them issue the summons for the hydrant & anything else they can dig up....even though the jerk is wrong doing uneccesary damage to the vehicle can result in a confrontation that would be counterproductive while you are a captive there & have a job to perform...if you just block him in there is nothing for him to escalate the situation for & if he does then its OGA time.
