This “new” alarm assignment system is ridiculous. E201 is closer than E 250 to 52 St &11th Ave by at least a quarter of a mile. E201 goes straight up 52nd street.
Mapquest even has E228 a tenth of a mile closer than E250.
When I went to chauffeur school we were told the the response with the least amount of turns, was the safest & probably the quickest & shortest.
I wonder if that’s factored in?

The ‘new’ boxes (BARB) have several problems. This one does not make sense. I wish I had better news, but it is very difficult to fix problems.

Are the rundowns above normal or were they the rundowns today due to other activity in area?

One would think that it would be easier with computers or just go back to the original Alarm Assignment Cards & move one engine & one truck up in each alarm to cover for 4th engine vs 3 engine originally & fast truck, old 2nd alarm truck.  I’m not holding my breath.😂
