The FDNY does have a Marine Battalion in service 24/7. They are most certainly going to put the brakes on any attempt to attack a serious ship fire with handlines and personnel.

#1- nap72 is an actual authority on this subject, not a keyboard expert. #2- The FDNY policy accounts for supervision, safety and adequate operational manpower. To be expected from a professional organization.
