These ads suck, very inconvenient, if they're required to maintain the costs of the site, I for one would be willing to pay a small monthly fee to get rid of the ads.

I'll take a stab at it: this job took up more than 1/3rd of the engines south of Central Park, so they're not going to use anybody down there as a relocator, especially during the day. If you start to look north from midtown, 23 and 44 do not relocate, they're not likely to move 39 as everybody...

    FDNY: Frequently Asked Questions

Curious if the do not relocate list has changed or if BN21 going to BK last night was the result of someone making a discretionary decision to violate the policy.

    2/9/26 Queens 4th Alarm Box 7942

Ok so if people generally don't think BNs should relocate off SI, a position that I can understand, the question becomes: what do you think should have happened instead? Downtown Brooklyn was decimated for BC coverage: BN31 and 57 at BK Box 0522, then as a result of the multiples, the BN32...

    ABC Question

Re: ADC, agree with all of the above, well stated by @NikFDNY. One example of this was the Twin Parks fire in the Bronx. That call had an ADC in the division and he remained in place throughout

    ABC Question

Someone else may know all the criteria but as a starting point I believe anybody (BC or FF) in any of those units (RB, MB, HB, SB) have to be HAZMAT Level 2 trained. Not sure where they get their extra manpower when vacancies arise.

    ABC Question

Thanks. Can they take any of the other pre-designations? RUL, SAM, ARC, etc? Or is the basic principle that ABCs are generally only used for fire duty?

    ABC Question

A further question on this: aside from the fact an ABC gets relieved by a BC as incident commander, what other positions is the ABC restricted from? On a second alarm, I believe ABCs are not allowed to be assigned safety, correct? Am I also correct to say they don't use ABCs in the SOC...

1/29/26 Brooklyn All Hands Box 2647

Definitely Brooklyn. If you look at the number of AH jobs as a proxy: fires for the 40, 42, and 43, exceed that of the 21, 22, and 23 - plus D8 I think has some other BK boxes, for example with the 33, plus they would venture further into Brooklyn if the 11th or 15th is unavailable.
