occupied  multiple  dwelling,  commercial  on  the  1st.  floor.    We  have  ( 1 )  10 ? 45  No  Code 
from  the  Fire  Apt.    We  need  an  extra  Engine  &  Truck  and  an  additional  Battalion  Chief.
Fire  is  Doubtful.    We?re  using  All ? Hands.

What does that mean Collyers Mansion Condition?

Collyers Mansion refers to a building or apartment with major debris limiting access.  It can be boxes, piles of newspapers, furniture, etc. The term eminates from a fire years ago in a building owned by the Collyer brothers; I believe it was up in Harlem.  One or both of the brothers died in the fire because of the delay in getting past the piles of debris or garbage
