BC15 using all hands for a fire in a 2 story detached 20x50 private dwelling, additional engine & truck special called, quickly placed PWH.

Two jobs for Battalion 15 within a few hours. That "15" sure has picked up over the last few years. Times sure have changed, back in the day, I didn't even know the 15 Battalion existed. Now it's the place to be.

Four out of the last ten jobs posted in the Bronx in the last few days, the 15th Battalion was there. (that's 40 % of the Bronx jobs).

It's what I've said before; Take the bronx map and flip it upside down, the 15th is what the 14th was back in the late 60's or the 17th from the 70's to the 90's. Ladder 39 used to be a lonely outpost, Engine 62 and Ladder 32 used to relocate to "busier" companies, and Batt. 20 was a relatively "quiet" area.

"G-man" you are Exactly right. When I talk to other buffs now, I use that same Quote: "It's like taking the Bronx map and turning it upside down". I knew I heard that from somebody, but just didn't know where. Its a very correct statement. I've used it several times in the past.

The 15th Battalion is basically the South Jamaica of the Bronx right down to the wide main roads such as Bronxwood and Laconia Aves, E.Gun Hill Rd, E.222 and E.233 Sts and the smaller secondary streets with limited fire protection and the same drug and gang problems.

That's a very good comparison of the 15th Battalion in the Bronx. Very similiar to South Jamaica Queens. It's wood frames and a few main streets. I've used Bronxwood Ave as a good street to go North and South on some of my more recent buffing trips. And if I remember correctly, 62/32 (Gun Hill Rd) are now in the top ten companies for runs and workers.

62/32 in B-27...2010 runs and workers has B-15 as #2 in 1st due All Hands

Yes they are in Batt 27 but a good portion of their first due area is in Batt 15 and there is plenty of OSW there. And an all hands fire with extra engine and truck pretty much wipes out the area for coverage. I remember reading a post where L59 was going into a job up there as the Fast truck when there was another box out in the area.
