Nice job on the rundown, firstdue. Looks like some job, jeez. Two multiples in one night - again, quite a few multiples lately. This job looks like it's cookin'

Pics are from Instagram:

HISTORICAL NOTE.

This must be one of CI's oldest buildings, known as the "TERMINAL HOTEL".    Check out on the right hand side midways up on this 1915 photo which I believe shows the building in question to the left of a steeple like structure  and  to the right of double smoke stacks or something.  In addition I think building with water tank on top in picture center is Henderson's Hall ( near today's Stillwell Ave.) which did not suffer a fiery fate but was demolished a few years ago after a short Landmarks Preservation struggle.

Either an accelerant or the wind, it being close to the water... either way that fire is roaring! I don't know how this job didn't go above a 3rd...

Building was old Terminal Hotel.  Many incidents in building when Coney Island was burning down - 2900 Stillwell.  The box came in regularly.  Many 10-92s.  I believe the actual box was on W 15th and Mermaid.  Prostitutes kept hotel in business.  Building was an expected multiple - surprising it lasted thru the War Years without major job.  Had a 2&2 response (245/318/161/166 and 43). I think there was a small convenience store next door open late.  Used to stop there on the way back to quarters after Mermaid Avenue jobs.

The amount of very interesting history about different locations in the city by the members of this site is great.

Thanks guys
