No helmet, no bunker pants, no gloves, no SCBA etc. and by the looks of it he may have been a chief officer because of the white coat. Of course what else would you expect from the port authority?

Looks like the keystone cops, video of this fire should be enough evidence in itself to let FDNY handle all the Port Authority fire duties

Don't want to pile on, but at about 7:00 an FDNY member "encourages" the PA nozzle guy to get closer to the cab to put out the fire.

I don't think I've ever seen a load of hay bales being transported by shipping container before. Woulda been a fine mess if those had caught!

Where did you see that the truck was carrying hay bales? I agree, I've never seen them carried in a enclosed truck like that before and normally on a flatbed and then they are tarped.

A little after the 10:00 minute mark they open the back door & it looks like green hay ?

Green hay, tightly packed in an enclosed space (such as a barn or truck) is a fire waiting to happen due to spontaneous combustion.  Lots of farmers and ranchers have lost barns due to it.  I'm inclined to doubt that the load was hay, even though I agree it looked like it.

Thanks, I was laughing so hard about the comedy act presented by the tow truck operators trying to be firemen at that point think I have noticed that. As Ray said, hey is quite susceptible to spontaneous combustion which is life really doubtful that's what it actually is although it does look like it. I did notice a few lists wisps of smoke coming out of the back of the truck, it would be interesting to see if that presented a problem in the long term.

Looked like Marijuana in bales which could explain the slow approach to attacking the fire! 8) ;D

I agree, Rev.  I thought the same thing.  But I doubt that John Deere sells many hay balers to the pot industry, legal or illegal.

Could be legal hemp being transported someplace for industrial, food, or CBD processing. Transporting hemp on a flatbed has already led to some issues out West. An owner/operator was pulling a load of hemp from Oregon to New Mexico (if I recall correctly) and in Idaho, a State Trooper saw it was cannabis and arrested him. Hemp is still illegal in Idaho, but is now legal under federal law, so there was some controversy over whether the truck driver should have been arrested, and whether in doing so, the state of Idaho was illegally interfering with Interstate Commerce. I don't know how that all turned out. Interesting times we live in!

So Much Farm Equipment Is on the Used Equipment Market Equipment Manager Wouldn't Even Need to Know about and wouldn't it most cases. As long as equipment goes out the door they could care less.
