To quote that famous song...."And now, the end is near, And so I face the final curtain"

Yes i read that Bronx Dispatcha Tree Tree Oh / 126 "The Beefman" is hanging up his mic after a life time with The FDNY

I was Lucky enough to meet Beef in 2013 when Willy D (nfd2004) was showing me around the Bronx. We name dropped his good friend "The G-Man" at the gate and Willy D told beef he had a visitor from Ireland here to see him. Of Course with his Irish roots he was straight out the door to meet us

We spent the best part of 90mins with him inside where he showed us the Bronx Co and how it was run. He showed us pictures from way back in the day and he & Willy D swapped stories about the War Years (And boy where they stories)

He told us back then that his time left in the FDNY Dispatch office was short and now that time has come

So on the 2nd Oct 2015 around 6/7pm i think its fair to say we are ALL invited to listen in as another Legend signs off the air for the last time

All the Best Beefman Nice to have met ya enjoy retirement

Bobby and I go way back to buffing at E60/L17/Bn14 at the start of the "War Years". Back then, a radio wasn't neccesary.  We would just smell or watch for smoke and listen to the bells for those "hot" boxes.

Beef you were a great mentor when I worked with you in Bx.  You are the best and will miss your voice on the radio!

"Beef", when that day comes, as "Irish" says; "Another Legend Signs Off".

Yes, Dec, aka "Irish", I remember that day, when we heard "The Beefer - Tree Tree Oh" on the Bronx Radio. We sure lucked out that day.

Well Beef, you may not remember me but Best Wishes on your upcoming retirement. It's not really too bad. I know of a few guys on here that are retired and I've never heard them complaining about it.
