Not hearing anything on VHF and only Brooklyn seems good on the UHF.    What's up?    Live Feeds  have noise only.
Anyone else having a problem?

Only able to get BKLYN via Hatzolah EMS/Bklyn FD (intermittent), Manh. 5x5.

Anyone getting Manhattan on the UHF or Live Feed anywhere?  VHF is silent, and UHF keeps opening the squelch but I hear noise only.  So how is Manhattan communicating with the field units etc ?    Digitally only over Internet or a MODAC channel?

Thanks.    154.430 is good for MAN.    Are you saying they are just having technical problems while switching to say "APCO P-25" as Sanitation and Parks Dept. have in last 3 years, or is this just a temporary situation then business as usual again.  The UHF signals are tinny sounding, I have always felt.  Hope this is just a glitch.

Unknown if this is Temp. or Permanent.  FDNY has transmitted 6-5-2 in past few days instructing all Manh. Units to operate on
Citywide... . Also, I'm wondering what "APCO P-25" means ? I listen up here in Ulster Co. via this Site and/or Broadcastify.
BKLYN is back operating Normally, (quite well in fact.)  ;)

Manhattan UHF has been temporarily operating on Citywide for several days to facilitate work on the radio system. Plans call for a similar operating plan for each of the remaining boroughs for about one week each in June.

Well, when the Transit Police had a similar announcement (this Fall) to the field units to use the UHF Freq. for your zone till further notice, it meant the end of the  VHF era.  FD was suppose to kill the VHF transmitters/repeaters  many years ago but they have survived till now.  Brooklyn VHF does not seem to be UP anymore (Morse Identifier still heard-however-I think) so their UHF must have passed muster already.    Unless you have official information on this, I like my theory on the death of VHF comms.
Indeed we are lucky an analog or digital trunking system has not been instituted like other smaller municipal radio zones around the country.

Friday,8 AM 4/28 VHF Communications Update :  with PL-186.2Hz.  set.

Brooklyn            OFF
Manhattan        ON---but mixer creating 1 sec. delay for the field units
Queens            ON, sounds solid
Staten Island    ON, sounds solid
Bronx                OFF?

In general VHF is iffy.  Listening to UHF.
