I found this on Facebook, from a guy named Eric Lawrence Landesberg:

"When I was talking with the guys at Nashua Station 2 HQ in New Hampshire. I came across this and it said Norwich so i was like this looks familiar. And I asked them if it was from CT sure enough they said yes. They said that a Member was originally from there. Unsure of what Engine it came from. But once I saw it I had to get a picture of it. If anyone knows any information on this it would be very much appreciated— at Nashua Fire Rescue."

Recognize it, Willy? Can you help?

BTW: Most fire departments order COMPLETE rigs, not just cab fronts and doors. It must have been quite a task picking that thing up and running with it every time a call came in.

Ray, "raybrag", the only thing I can tell you is that at one time, maybe 1990/95 or so we had been given a Mack CF pumper that had previously been operated by the Yantic Volunteer FD in Norwich (one of five volunteer fire companies within the city borders).
Yantic had gotten a new rig and the city shops let us use it because we needed an engine.

Of course, I loved it because it reminded me of the FDNY.

I remember coming back from a run, the guy in the jump set said he smelled something burning in the engine compartment. I was the officer at the time, and we opened the engine hood and had to put out the fire.

I think we used it for about six months.

"scarter" who is also a member here might also remember it because he was assigned to the rig at the time.

See if I can find out anything else.

I do remember that rig Willy. It was super fast and smoked like a chimney. And we ran it up until the late 1990’s, it wasn’t disposed of until the present Squad A went in service and the 1986 Hahn became a spare. I remember pumping it at a fire on Boswell avenue around 1998-1999

Thank you, Bill, and also "scarter" for your replies. Turns out the CF was from Norwich NEW YORK, not Connecticut. So I bothered you for nothing. But thanks again for trying. Now let's see who else I can disturb with bad information. 🫣
