Windsor VA Working Fire 2/3/26

On Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at approximately 1:52PM, Stations 40 (Windsor VFD), 50 (Smithfield VFD), 70 (Windsor VRS), 20 (Carrsville VFD) and Battalion 1 (Isle of Wight Fire-Rescue) were dispatched to the 13000 block of Shiloh Drive for reports of a shed on fire. While units were responding, a column of black smoke could be observed from a distance. Our law enforcement partners arrived and advised fire and EMS units that a garage was on fire that appeared to have extended to the residence and there was a patient suffering from severe burns. 701 (WVRS Chief Griffin) arrived on scene and confirmed it would a working fire and initiated patient care with the Windsor medic crew. 401 (WVFD Chief Scott) arrived and established command advising E40 crew to initiate an interior fire attack of the residential structure. A secondary attack line was deployed to the rear for fire attack on the garage. The fire was under control within 30 minutes of the dispatch. The Windsor medic transported the patient to an area hospital. Crews completed extensive overhaul operations. Crews operated on scene for approximately 2 hours. Carrsville VFD provided an engine and crew at Station 40 to cover the area while units operated at the scene.
