The above WNYF article was not related to the earlier 442 Adelphi St collapse......i worked in R*2 at the one in the above Ray Downey article ....it was Box 621 on 2-10-87 at 242 Adelphi St bet Willoughby & Dekalb right almost around the corner from our then Carlton Ave Qtrs . w/210.

I am not sure of the origin of the original use of K in a radio transmission early on in other circles however in the FDNY it basically was used to mean "i am finished transmitting & the line is clear for a reply if need be" .....it was not always used back when & really is not used today it...
