Lieutenant Martin died as a result of the acute heart attack he suffered while operating at an alarm on February 18th.
While operating at Bronx Box 4558, on February 18 at Pilot Street and City Island Avenue, Lieutenant Francis J. Martin suffered a heart attack. He succumbed to his injury on March 9. He was fifty-seven years old married with three grown children. He was a member of the Fire Department since 1939.
