Fireman Devlin died as a result of injuries he sustained when Engine 277 collided with a milk truck at Gates Avenue and Seneca Avenue. The call turned out to be a false alarm, and the three men that pulled the alarm were charged with homicide.
Fireman Patrick Devlin was killed while Engine 277 was responding to an alarm at Onderdonk Avenue and Grove Street. At Gates Avenue and Seneca Avenue, Engine 277 collided with a truck. Fireman Devlin received a broken leg and fatal internal injuries. Three men who pulled the false alarm were arrested and charged with homicide.
