I’m sure I read somewhere that Jenners had one of the first operational escalators in Scotland and that, in its early days of use, company staff would offer shoppers a nip of brandy at the top to get over the ordeal.

As an American with deep roots to Scotland and being retired F.D.N.Y. Fire Captain, my prayers go out to my brothers in Scotland. Great firefighters are great firefighters no matter what accent they speak English with, or whatever language they speak, we are all special to each other and to those we serve. I pray for our brother Barry Martin; God give healing to him, and all injured in this fire.
