When and why do people have to die over the need for basically Fast Food deliveries. City Council and other Agencies have to take action, the Fire Department’s around the city and country have to be heard.
Food messengers can still work, it called pedal power!

“We had a terrible tragedy here today. A fire started on the first floor in the vestibule. The cause of the fire was an e-bike. It created a heavy fire condition at the first-floor level, which was able to travel directly up the stairs. Upstairs were six occupants. Four of them were able to jump out the windows and two unfortunately are deceased. Our units arrived in three minutes. The way these fires occur, it’s like an explosion of fire. The occupants have very little chance of escaping. We have been talking about this for a couple of years and how dangerous it is to store these devices anywhere near your exit. This bike was right at the front door of the house and the occupants didn’t have a chance to get out of the building,” said FDNY Chief of Department John Hodgens, from the scene of fatal 2-alarm fire at 25-71 46 Street in Queens.
Chief Fire Marshal Dan Flynn said, “Today’s fire marks our 59th fire this year caused by a lithium-ion battery. Today, unfortunately we have had our fifth fatality this year as a result of lithium-ion batteries. We want people to use them, but we want people to use them safely. We want people to purchase chargers that are compatible with the devices that they purchase. Do not buy the cheapest device. We lost two people today; we were fortunate not to lose six.
