WORKING RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE ON BLYTHEWOOD: TWO ADULTS DISPLACED
Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 1000 Block of Blythewood Lane for a residential structure fire, in Lake Kennedy Estates. Emergency Communications dispatched the incident at 11:22 a.m.
Engine 3, Ladder 3, and Medic 3 arrived at 11:26 a.m. to find heavy fire showing from the front and side of a single-story residential structure. Engine companies performed an aggressive interior attack while the ladder company and rescue company performed searches. Heavy fire and smoke damage occurred to the entire structure. One occupant is being transported to a local hospital with injuries related to the fire. No firefighters are injured. Two adults are displaced, and the American Red Cross is being contacted to assist the displaced occupants. The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire. The fire was placed under control at 11:44 a.m. Suffolk Police provided scene and traffic control.
Responding units included Car 1, Car 2, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, Engine 3, Engine 1, Engine 2, Ladder 3, Rescue 1, Medic 3, Medic 1, EMS1, Safety 1, Rehab 6, Fire Marshal 1,2,3,4,5,and 6.
