I suspect it's the 2 Huges Schools both take up the length of 109st both the South and North sides. It was a Great block for stick ball. Super wide street.

had a few vacants in sunset park bkln we would catch on a routine bases thanks to the gangs in the neighborhood (dirty ones and lafamilia)
learned a lot from the bosses and senior men...drilling on an actual training ground.
there was a vacant bldg on 3rd ave in the view of the gowanus expressway and on it was spray painted ...

From that picture it looks like that whole block has seen better days - even with the attached MD appearing to have it’s windows boarded up
