"2 ALARM FIRE OVERNIGHT!
At 2:43 am the Long Beach Fire Department was alerted for a House Fire at 158 Edwards Blvd.
Fire was in a large 3 Story Wood Frame, Balloon Construction Queen Anne house, fire started in the basement and quickly spread to all floors including the attic area.
Multiple Hose lines were stretched, and the Truck Companies had to open up all the walls and ceilings searching for the fire.
2 Firefighters received minor injuries, the cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature and is under the investigation of the Nassau County Office of the Fire Marshal - County of Nassau. The City of Long Beach Building Department also responded to the scene.
We were assisted by the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, Inwood Fire Department, Oceanside NY Fire Department, East Rockaway Fire Department, Rockville Centre Fire Department, Valley Stream Fire Department, Baldwin Fire Department, Woodmere Vol. Fire Department, Lakeview Fire Department, North Bellmore Fire Department, Wantagh Fire Department and Atlantic Beach Rescue.
All operations were under the Command of Chief Hadrick Ray and Assistant Chief John Marino."
