I can remember 65 years ago, 2 men on the backstep and one in the hose bed were able to reload about 8 lengths of 3" hose.
Now, it takes up to 2 DOZEN men to reload 6 lengths of 1 3/4" and 5 lengths of 2 1/2".....just sayin'

They still can. It's just the way they are taught in proby school now. Everyone helps. It does look extreme at times , but you never want to be be the guy "just standing around "

I know everyone wants to help & not just be standing around but sometime the length of the line of FFs is so long it could be counterproductive.

Looks absurd. Much better idea is to drain and lay out lengths for the company, they can and should repack their own bed. 25 guys holding up a length of hose is pointless.
