Interesting. 52/52 second due.....they have to zig zag down from Riverdale and work their way up to Orloff. 79/37 most likely can get into the box faster. There was a time when the 52's rarely came down off the hill (70's) During this job the next closest trucks would be either 45, 59 or 39 with a long haul up into some of those very narrow and tight turn streets in Riverdale with possible response times of 8-10 minutes.

As someone who worked up in Riverdale they can get off the “hill” and run straight up van cortland park south to Orloff. 70’s were much different era and time. I also understand the area being stripped of fire protection. The 52’s and 79/37 are almost same in mileage depending on time of day and traffic.

The 52’s with the zig zag are 9 minutes away as per google maps, 79/37 is 12 minutes. As someone who worked up in Riverdale they can get off the “hill” and run straight up van cortland park south to Orloff. 70’s were much different era and time. I also understand the area being stripped of fire protection if they answer calls like this but lots can happen in 3 extra minutes at a fire before help arrives. Funny in todays jobs they use relocators to respond into the original jobs when help is needed which still leaves the area without fire protection.

81/46 and 79/37 were there a lot when I was a kid - also, agreed on the 1st dues for time of day.
