Thanks HFNG1 very interesting.

According to the DOJ document, they had a system where retired FF Santiago solicited payment for expedited inspections. He would use the two Chiefs to move the inspections up. Then Santiago would pay them.

The three discussed business using a group text. The two chiefs then used Dept email for the inspection requests.

Santiago’s company made payments to a company controlled by Cordasco and a company controlled by Saccovino’s wife.

Everything they are alleged to have done is easily traceable. Not a difficult case for the FBI to crack.

This episode received extensive coverage, including the editorial page, in this morning's Wall Street Journal. The story is now world-wide.

The New York Post yesterday reported that these two chiefs replaced several who were demoted by the former fire commissioner. True? Any connection to her leaving?

Can't speak to the second part but it is very much on the public record that these two chiefs replaced two of the staff chiefs that were targeted by the former Commissioner. I won't use names out of respect for site policy, but one was the Chief of Fire Prevention who was knocked down two ranks to Deputy Chief, and the second was shuffled out of the division into a different role.
