PROMOTIONS Effective 0900 hours, February 10, 2024 In accordance with a Certificate issued by the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services of Citywide Personnel Services, the following members are promoted to the rank indicated and assigned to the units indicated.

A Big Day for the FDNY! The Future of the Best Fire Department in the World! Great Chiefs that I can call my friends! It is a pleasure seeing all of you at scenes across NYC. All very well deserved promotions! Sorry I couldn’t be there today but Best of Luck to all of you on your next mile stone on making the FDNY the Best!

Interesting. A no-notice promotion ceremony for the highest ranks. And the effective date is that very day instead of the usual which is Saturday at 09:00.
What exactly is an “Acting Citywide Tour Commander”? Never heard of it. Let alone two.

I believe both of them are moving to staff. There is a lack of citywide tour commanders right now

Again, I think the rush was to get it done as quick as possible in case Adams was removed from office (which may still occur) which would have resulted in the promotions being put off as low priority to the incoming interim team. It was of great benefit to those promoted.
