That block (190 to 192) has had several good jobs over the years. Back in the 70’s and 80’s, 75/33 were always first due to those boxes and would almost always beat 81/46 into boxes 4903, 3383 etc at Kingsbridge and going north to 195 and sometimes even Strong street. Then 75/33 relocated 1 block east and 3-1/2 blocks south to their current house on Walton. 95/36 rarely came across the bridge up past Sedgwick. AND The much larger horsepower diesel engines were game changers. It took 81/46 forever to make the climb up Albany crescent or Kingsbridge Road to Sedgwick and points east whereas 75 and 33 coming out of the old Jerome Ave house made an immediate right, shot across 183 and the flew down University a wide thoroughfare with only two traffic lights between 183 and Kingsbridge Road. Nowadays with a 450 or 500 HP engine even the heavy tower ladder (TL46 climbs the hills without and problem and quickly gets into those boxes. With the move of 75/33, 79 and 37 were added to those boxes ahead of 75/33 and have a straight shot down Goulden to Kingsbridge and then a quick jog over to University. Interesting to see how first due boxes change over the years.

Great job by the FDNY in both the 2 Alarm (Plus) Bronx and at the Staten Island 3rd Alarm (Plus). Having spent more than 20 years in busy, FDNY Tower Ladders the need for Tower Ladder to be supplied with water "A.S.P." is evident. If interior lines are not able to control the fire rapidly, a quick shot of water from a Tower Ladder stream can really "Turn the Tide of Battle" Once again I feel at advanced fires that have "Self-vented", an "Aggressive Exterior Attack? to "Reset the Fire" and enable an "Aggressive INTERIOR Attack" to begin within a few minutes, "Often Saves More Lives" and make the Interior attack faster and safer. This is especially true when "Clutter = Colliers Mansion Conditions are encountered.
