As a kid I delivered the newspaper to this house - right off the corner of 150th and Roosevelt where the old Beplat hardware store was on the northeast corner

That’s a location I know that memory master remembers!

I certainly do. In fact, the gentleman that lived across the street from me, in College Point, and his uncle both worked at Beplat. Thanks for the memory (pardon the pun)

That's a large response for a 10-75. Any pictures?

Didn't see any pics. It did go to an All Hands. Just never changed the title. Never change it unless its a multiple

Great place. One of the counter men opened Jere's Hardware Northern Blvd in the 190's, which later moved to the LIE service road just shy of Francis Lewis Blvd.
Right at Fresh Meadow Lane between Utopia Pkwy and St Mary’s Cemetery

That building's still there, and the BEPLAT TruValue hardare signs are still all over the building. (although, there are smaller blue letters in Chinese also on the walls) I wonder who is running the business today. I keep forgetting to stop in.

Jeres Hardware is still run by the now grown Children of the 2 Brothers who ran it for years both on Northern Blvd & then on the LIE....if you put the kids in a lineup you could easily pick them out ....they looked like a family.....always a good place.

Thanks gents, I completely forgot about the Northern Blvd. and LIE stores. I must be getting old. If I do remember correctly there was a Texaco gas station across Northern on the south side.

Yes on the Texaco station as well as a Weston’s Hamburger fast food place with the skins on the French fries
