CITY OF YES

88000 low income homes x avg of 4 occupants per unit = approximately 340,000 more low income citizens where the demand for public safety services is typically higher. More fire companies? More EMS (buses) units? More cops? Good luck.

What may also be problematic is the new allowance for very small houses on existing properties which could reduce clearance between buildings allowing easier fire spread. Samll houses also tend to burn up faster. Also problemmatic for the FD is increased use of basements as housing and minimal parking requirements which will reduce Emergency veicle access. On the good side is, however, $5.0 billion allocated for infrastructure upgrades. I hope the FDNY upper management goes to the top of the line for securing some additional funding.
